Disciple Making Behaviors

Disciple Making Behaviors

We firmly believe that there are specific practices that will lead to disciples of Jesus being made. These include:

  • Processing Scripture to better apply the gospel to all of life
  • Being deeply embedded in the life of the local church
  • Understanding one’s cultural context
  • Investing in others to help them invest in others
  • Engaging in relationships with those who do not yet follow Jesus

While these practices are certainly are not comprehensive of all that it means to follow Christ, we believe that those who seek to live out these practices will see the fruit that comes from Christ-centered faithfulness. At Elmwood, our goal is to help walk alongside you and encourage you to live out these practices regularly, and our ministries exist with these practices in mind. If you would like to go deeper into what it looks like to live these practices out, it’s our recommendation that you start at STEP 1 on our “How do I get involved?” page
