Dear Friends in Christ,
In John 11, Jesus powerfully declares in the midst of tragedy, death, and grief, “I am the resurrection and the life.” This, dear ones, is why we focus on the cross during Lent and the empty tomb on Easter. It is such incredibly Good News. Life’s experiences are not all there is. Above and beyond our own circumstances, situations, and experiences, Jesus is the resurrection and the life. We have not been abandoned or left to our own devices. The truth is that God has come to us in full humanity and paid the price for our selfishness, rebellion, and sin by dying on a cross.
In the innocent suffering and death of Jesus
Christ, provision has been made by the Creator of the universe to heal and
restore His creation. As we believe and trust in this same Jesus, His
death and resurrection provide power for us to experience and live life as it
was originally intended. Eternal life actually begins here and now when we
acknowledge Jesus as our Savior and Lord. This broken world is passing
away and we will rule and reign with Christ forever when He comes and makes all
things new. God’s Holy Word declares,
Now that’s Good News! Wonderful News!
Hallelujah, Christ is Risen!
In Resurrection Joy,
